In our unwavering commitment to promoting public health and sustainable development, the Yemen Center for Strategic Studies and Research (YCSSR) is proud to introduce our Clean Water and Sanitation Programme. Recognizing the fundamental importance of access to safe and clean water and sanitation facilities for human well-being, our programme endeavors to address the pressing challenges faced by communities across Yemen.
Yemen, like many regions, grapples with significant water and sanitation issues, exacerbated by environmental degradation, population growth, and conflict. Millions of Yemenis lack access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation facilities, leading to dire health consequences and perpetuating cycles of poverty and vulnerability. In response, our programme seeks to address these challenges comprehensively, guided by principles of equity, sustainability, and community empowerment.
Aligned with international principles and commitments, our programme aims to achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water and adequate sanitation. We prioritize the needs of women, girls, and vulnerable populations, recognizing the disproportionate impact of water and sanitation challenges on their health and well-being.
Furthermore, we are committed to improving water quality, reducing pollution, and promoting sustainable water management practices. By implementing integrated water resources management strategies and fostering transboundary cooperation, we seek to ensure the sustainable use and management of freshwater resources in Yemen.

Central to our approach is the protection and restoration of water-related ecosystems, including mountains, forests, wetlands, rivers, aquifers, and lakes. We recognize the critical role of these ecosystems in regulating water cycles, maintaining biodiversity, and supporting livelihoods, and we are dedicated to their preservation for future generations.
Partners
As we embark on this journey towards clean water and sanitation for all, we invite collaboration and partnership from stakeholders across sectors. Together, let us work towards a future where every individual in Yemen has access to safe and clean water and sanitation facilities, enabling them to lead healthy, dignified lives and contribute to the sustainable development of our nation.
